CRMP-2 is a protein encoded by the DPYSL2 gene which is approximately 62,2 kDa. CRMP-2 is localised to the cytoplasm and cytosol. It is involved in developmental biology, semaphorin interactions, development slit-robo signalling, axon guidance and cytoskeletal signalling. This protein falls under the collapsin response mediator protein family. It plays a role in neuronal development and polarity, as well as in axon growth and guidance, neuronal growth cone collapse and cell migration. CRMP-2 is ubiquitously expressed. Mutations in the DPYSL2 gene may result in Alzheimer disease. STJ90974 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This primary antibody specifically binds to endogenous CRMP-2 protein which only binds about T509 when T509 is phosphorylated.
