CREB-1 is a protein encoded by the CREB1 gene which is approximately 36,6 kDa. CREB-1 is localised to the nucleus. It is involved in activated TLR4 signalling, DAG and IP3 signalling, RET signalling and post NMDA receptor activation events. CREB-1 is a member of the leucine zipper family of DNA binding proteins. It is a phosphorylation-dependent transcription factor that stimulates transcription upon binding to the DNA cAMP response element, a sequence present in many viral and cellular promoters. CREB-1 is expressed in the eye, liver, nervous system, blood and adrenal gland. Mutations in the CREB1 gene may result in angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma. STJ90235 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This primary antibody specifically binds to endogenous CREB-1 protein which only binds about S133 when S133 is phosphorylated.
