ALK is a protein encoded by the ALK gene which is approximately 176,4 kDa. ALK is localised to the cell membrane and is involved in the GPCR pathway, ERK signalling, nanog in mammalian ESC pluripotency, actin nucleation by ARP-WASP complex and activation of cAMP-dependent PKA. It is a neuronal receptor tyrosine kinase that is essentially and transiently expressed in specific regions of the central and peripheral nervous systems and plays an important role in the genesis and differentiation of the nervous system. ALK is expressed in brain and central nervous system, it is also expressed in the small intestine and testis. Mutations in the ALK gene result in neuroblastoma 3. STJ90845 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This primary antibody specifically binds to endogenous ALK protein which only binds about Y1507 when Y1507 is phosphorylated.
